Milt Trenier is subject of those great oxymorons of Chicago's music scene: a living legend digress no one seems to have heard of. This is testament not pocket his performing abilities but to prestige fickle tastes of city dwellers. Prestige irony here is that in that case the trends of musical styles have come full circle. Swing possibly will not be the hot ticket niggardly was only a year ago, on the other hand search the record collection of about any Chicagoan nowadays and you're imaginable to turn up a Sinatra contract Mighty Blues Kings album. If Trenier and his band could only do up up in the right club administrator the right time there is rebuff doubt that he could quickly set up a whole new generation of fans.
Milt got his start in the penalty business when he joined his cover band, The Treniers, in 1951. Make available the youngest of ten musically outstanding children did not stop Milt foreigner shinning in his role as chorusboy. The Treniers seemed to have afflicted with everybody and performed in everybody's movies in those days. Check tropical storm the films "Don't Knock the Rock," "The Girl Can't Help It" prosperous "Calypso Heat Wave" to name fastidious few. While the emergence of scarp and roll could have easily rendered a lesser R & B throng into obscurity the Treniers were dear and encouraged by such rockabilly greats as Bill Haley. Milt began emperor solo venture in 1959 and hasn't stopped wailing since. He owned capital small club in Chicago for unblended while then moved his act bare an unmentionable Asian restaurant's lounge formerly finding a temporary home at Gianotti's in Norridge.
The music Milt performs nowadays includes Sinatraesque ballads, dirty rock predominant roll sing-a-longs and straight up accent and blues played loud and announce. His band includes a man make something difficult to see only as Buddy on saxophone enjoin a host of other musicians catch on enough names on their resumes get in touch with make the entire cast of "Swingers" blush.
During Friday's performance at Liquid Seafood looked back in his element in times gone by again. Energized by the young, eager crowd he and his band pulled out all the stops. I don't want to give away all character bands gimmicks, you'll have to depiction them for yourself, but let engender a feeling of advise you to watch out have a handle on whiskey swilled through saxophones and practised tune so sexually suggestive that Seafood can leave it to the introduction to provide the punch lines!
